The North Sails collection for the 36th America's Cup With a great attention tu sustainability

For the 36th edition of the America's Cup, presented by Prada, North Sails presented the new collection dedicated to sailing competition, of which this year it is Official Clothing Partner. The products are linked to the traction of the aesthetics of this sport, with elegance and comfort, but while they express a line of innovation, on the other there is also attention to sustainability, the 'Sustainable Performance' for which the garments are made with recycled materials.

The collection belongs to spring/summer 2021 and includes different garments, from knitwear to technical clothing of outerwear. Among the polo shirts, t-shirts and jackets, stand out the New York Vest, a quilted water-repellent vest with the back made of recycled polyester softshell; inside, the padding is in Repreve - material obtained from the recycling of plastic bottles. Other important elements are the Hauraki Jacket (a waterproof Sailor jacket with details dedicated to the America's Cup), the Perth Jacket, the Takapuna Jacket (a jacket from the women's line) and the Orewa Sweater, a mauriwai full zip sweatshirt.

North Sails had already presented a collection for the America's Cup, but this new version is the Sprign Summer edition. Sustainability is also central here: it has already been seen that in recent times many brands have focused on a green policy and plastic recycling. On the other hand, sailing competition - the oldest tournament in the world - takes place in the water, one of the elements of the ecosystem most affected by environmental problems. The Prada Cup is taking place these days - with the final stages starting soon - and the start of the America's Cup is scheduled for Saturday, March 6.
