Cannes to the sound of the turntables A festival with your feet in the water

An anniversary edition

Two decades of existence, but a single guiding principle: "feet in the sand and head in the sound." This year, Les Plages Électroniques celebrates its twentieth anniversary. On the agenda for this scorching summer edition: an incandescent line-up with the added ultimate luxury of taking a dip between two sets.

While the main stage will host international electro giants like Martin Garrix, DJ Snake, or the enigmatic Vladimir Cauchemar, other emerging - or closely guarded - gems will take over the spaces at La Terrasse, La Centrale, and the Solarium. A cosmopolitan programming that takes you to the four corners of the globe while celebrating the Mediterranean basin, much like the high-energy collective Twerkistan. The Technobus area won't be left out, offering a raw, electric showcase for local techno collectives straight out of the Alpes-Maritimes.

From an impromptu party to a European giant

It’s hard to imagine that at its launch in July 2006, the festival was just an intimate gathering of about a hundred curious onlookers. Twenty years later, the improvised neighborhood get-together has transformed into one of Europe's biggest beach parties. A meteoric rise guided by an organization now fine-tuned to the millimeter, ready to orchestrate the arrival of 25,000 festival-goers a day.

While the crowd size has shifted scales, the iconic backdrop of the Croisette remains the immutable theater for this weekend. To mark this symbolic milestone, Les Plages Électroniques is thinking even bigger, rethinking the overall experience by transforming its stage areas into vibrant, immersive lifestyle spaces.

What's a festival without its merch? Les Plages Électroniques goes beyond the simple world of music to establish itself as a genuine open-air fashion moment, where festival-goer style takes center stage. It's the perfect opportunity to leave with a suitcase full of tangible souvenirs - and not just photos saved on your smartphone or memories in your head.

This vibe has been perfectly captured by Danish brands Jack & Jones and JJXX, who are taking advantage of the event to drop an exclusive capsule collection. On the menu: retro white-collared football jerseys and pure cotton unisex t-shirts, perfect for keeping the festival's energy alive all summer long.
