Are you stille convinced that working in the fashion world is difficult? To run the best fashion weeks runways we don’t need castings with kilometric queues anymore, you can start your carreer with your smartphone and your instagram account. Virtual castings and models are running the scene as the progress goes on.
The first who experienced this method was Marc Jacobs for his Marc by Marc Jacobs fw 14/15 fashion show, asking people what they love more (mostly if you are an aspirant model!), a photo with the hashtag #castmemarc. Experiment with more than 70.000 results.
Because of the success of the experiment, the brand repeated it also with the ss15 collection and another brand used it. DKNY with Cara Delevingne nominated six Insta-stars. Now we can see the casting-model Delevingne with Kim Kardashian, togheter in a photo like polaroid and as description ‘Secret Project’.
Progress is always appreciated, but if we arrive to delete fashion shows live, a step back will be necessary.
