Pharrell's Grammy hat is now headed for a museum
A temporary home
August 26th, 2014
That Pharrell Williams hat designed by British designer Vivienne Westwood was an object to be displayed and admired in the museum we all thought. But what we really end up maybe not.
Not as a tribute to contemporary fashion but as a symbol of the impact of social media. This is the reason that has made it a hat an object from the museum. Will be on display at the Newseum in Washington, an interactive museum dedicated to the world of journalism and from 22 August to 26 October.
The hat had been sold by Pharrell on eBay to raise funds in support of its Foundation, From One Hand To Another, a charity that helps young people to form through education, acquired later by the restaurant chain Arby's, very popular in the United States for the "ridiculous" amount of $ 44,100.
