Marc by Marc Jacobs Resort Collection 2015

Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier for Marc by Marc Jacobs  resort collection are inspired by the galaxy, the solar system and the race to conquer space of the '50s. To fascinate the two designers is, in particular, the story of a group of women aspiring astronauts called Mercury 13, which after having been deceived, have been forced to return home life without being able to leave. This episode becomes a daywear line that alternates classic feminine shapes and silhouettes of the 50s with more linear and clean other, with military details and innovative fabrics.

The style somewhere between nostalgia and the future is translated into a series of floral dresses with flared skirts, asymmetrical jumpsuits, white shirts, stretch belts, illustrations by Zoë Taylor and graphics byFergus Purcell.
