sacai TO GO at Le Bon Marché: the Japanese pop-up of the season Japanese spirit to go

From August 29 to October 11, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche kicks off the new season with a Japanese theme through sacai TO GO, a full-scale culinary and cultural immersion designed as a journey to go.

Behind this brand-new experience is the sharp eye and signature touch of Sarah Andelman, co-founder of Paris’s most legendary concept store, Colette. For over a month, Chitose Abe, founder and designer of the Japanese label, joins forces with her longtime friend to bring together an inner circle of creative partners. Together, they weave a unique creative stopover right at the heart of the Left Bank department store.

On the food front, the culinary lineup promises to be as refined as it is mouthwatering. Matcha naturally takes center stage, balancing the heritage of the venerable Toraya house with the modern twist of Rocky’s Matcha, served alongside dishes crafted by a lineup of passionate chefs. Starting September 5 and 6, Folderol - the must-visit natural wine and ice cream spot from the 11th arrondissement - will set up shop on the 3rd floor. Next up are refined bentos from Iné and the famous airy sando sandwiches from Benchy. For the last two weekends of October, Niwa, the self-proclaimed "kneading house" usually tucked away on Rue Vaneau in the 7th arrondissement, and Dreamin’ Man, the most Parisian of Japanese coffee shops, will take their turn setting up shop.

On the wardrobe side, sacai presents an exclusive merch selection featuring signature logo T-shirts and pieces from its latest collaboration with Carhartt WIP. To carry these finds, the brand unveils tote bags from its Zantan series, crafted entirely from upcycled archival fabrics. These same archives are also repurposed to replicate some of sacai’s most iconic silhouettes on small customizable dolls, letting visitors mix and match to create their own custom looks.

Whether you are looking to hunt down a rare piece or simply enjoy a scoop of artisanal ice cream, this pop-up is well worth the detour before it closes on October 11.
