Off to Italy with the Parisian Lavazza Pop-Ups Discover Rome and Naples from October 8 to 11
From October 8 to 11, Lavazza unveils Tales of Italy in two prime Paris neighborhoods. To travel to Italy, there's no need to catch a flight: the famous Italian brand invites us on a journey through coffee, revealing how each city boasts its very own tasting culture. Head over to 36 Rue Étienne Marcel in the bustling 2nd arrondissement, or 38 Rue des Martyrs in the heart of the 9th.
The experience celebrates two iconic traditions: Rome, featuring notes of hazelnut and dark chocolate, and Naples, highlighted by cocoa and caramel aromas. The menu across both spots features the undeniable espresso, the quintessential cappuccino, and the latte - a favorite choice among French coffee lovers.
While Italy fills your cup, the culinary journey continues generously on your plate thanks to Pasticceria Simona, Paris’s first Italian pastry shop founded by Simona Vignolo. To pair with these exceptional coffees, you can enjoy a classic or pistachio maritozzo echoing Rome, as well as a cream-filled zeppola di San Giuseppe or a sfogliatella (flaky or shortcrust) showcasing the flavors of Naples. For the occasion, Simona has also created two exclusive treats available at the pop-ups and at Pasticceria Simona: a chocolate-chili Baiocco inspired by the Roman capital, and a lemon Baiocco with sweet Neapolitan accents.
It is also a feast for the eyes thanks to a collaboration with Italian artist Camilla Falsini, who created three original illustrations inspired by Rome and Naples. "In Rome as in Naples, coffee is more than just a drink: it's a ritual, a pause, a moment of social connection," explains the artist. In Rome, her birthplace where she still lives, Camilla Falsini imagined a couple sharing two espressos surrounded by pine trees, cats, seagulls, and a Vespa - a playful nod to the movie Roman Holiday. For Naples, she plays with the boundary between indoors and outdoors so characteristic of Mediterranean cities: a vivid scene where Moka pot coffee, iced coffee, traditional alleyways, the bay, and Mount Vesuvius come together.
Each location offers its own unique atmosphere and pace. On Rue des Martyrs, visitors pop in for a coffee on the go, to take away, or to enjoy leaning against the counter, with a special favorite being the Caffè alla Nocciola. On Rue Étienne-Marcel, you can take your time to sit back and settle in: you can even learn the craft of a barista. And because the experience goes beyond tasting, every visitor can send a personalized postcard, take part in a bandana-making workshop, and take home exclusive souvenirs from the shop.
Founded in Turin in 1895, Lavazza is a family business that has grown into a global coffee giant. Operating in over 140 countries with iconic brands like Carte Noire and Kicking Horse, the Italian house produces more than 30 billion cups a year. Its commitment: elevating every single coffee bean, from sourcing to cup. With this pop-up event, Lavazza successfully brings all the authenticity and Italian art de vivre straight to the heart of Paris. Whether you enjoy a quick, strong espresso or are curious to learn more about the barista craft, this gourmet and cultural getaway is the perfect occasion to extend that holiday feeling over a coffee break.
Find Tales of Italy at 36 Rue Étienne-Marcel and 38 Rue des Martyrs through Sunday, open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
