Louis Vuitton will show in Barcelona in May A tribute to the America's Cup that will take place in late summer

Louis Vuitton is set to sail for Barcelona. The brand announced today that its upcoming Cruise 2025 collection will be showcased in the Catalan capital on May 23, marking the beginning of a collaboration with the Spanish city. This much-anticipated event will not only present the latest collection by Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of Louis Vuitton's women's collections since 2013, but will also kick off a series of cultural activations, exhibitions, and educational programs. Louis Vuitton's association with Barcelona dates back to 1854 when the brand participated in the prestigious Barcelona International Exhibition, earning praise for its craftsmanship. Since opening its first Spanish store in 1987, Louis Vuitton has deepened its roots in Barcelona, operating two boutiques and six leather goods workshops in the region, employing over 1,800 skilled artisans.

The decision to host the Cruise show in Barcelona is strategically aligned with the upcoming Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup, scheduled from August 22 to October 27, which will take place against the picturesque backdrop of Port Vell and Port Olímpic in Barcelona, creating synergies with competing teams and local athletes. Louis Vuitton's commitment to Barcelona goes beyond the realms of fashion and sports: the brand plans to introduce its City Guide for Barcelona through a pop-up kiosk and event, with educational initiatives also in the pipeline to promote creativity and design. The precise location of the show has not been revealed yet – but anticipating a nautical theme for the collection, an outdoor show near the sea is expected. Other possibilities involve the city's many architectural masterpieces, often beloved by Nicolas Ghesquière for his shows such as the Bob Hope Estate in Palm Springs or the Museum of Contemporary Art Niterói in Brazil.
