These are the secondhand handbags that are worth the most in 2026 Searches for the Chloé Paddington have risen by 610%, but the real star of the secondhand market is Chanel

The new report from Fashionphile, the platform for buying and selling second-hand luxury bags and accessories, has just been released. By comparing list prices and searches on the platform between January and July 2026 with the same period of the previous year, the 2026 Ultra-Luxury Resale Report highlights some interesting data about the state of the second-hand market, particularly regarding Chanel.

Chanel's comeback

Under the creative direction of Matthieu Blazy, the double-C Maison has gained so much popularity that it has become the most searched brand overall on the platform. Blazy's debut collection for Chanel, which brought some of the Maison's iconic bags back to the runway, helped fuel growing interest in the brand's accessories: according to the report, searches for the Chanel Cambon increased by 148%. The Chanel Double Flap also saw its price rise considerably on the site — by nearly 9%, according to the report.

Fashionphile reported that it paid Chanel item sellers above retail price for their pieces. The Urban Essential was purchased at 15% above retail, the Souplissimo and the Archetype Tote at 13% above, and the Preppy Coco at 1% above.

Despite Chanel's recent surge in popularity, Louis Vuitton continues to hold the title of most bought and sold brand on Fashionphile, with the Speedy remaining the site's best-selling bag for the second consecutive year. Meanwhile, other bags have climbed toward the top of the platform's most searched and sold rankings, including the Prada Re-Edition 2005, which moved from eighth to third place in a single year, and the Goyard Saint Louis, which entered the top 10, taking the spot previously held by Celine's Ava.

Archive wins the game

Archive bags are among the most searched items overall, Fashionphile reports. Searches for the Saint Laurent Mombasa, designed by Tom Ford in the early 2000s, have skyrocketed, driving the price up by 291% in the space of a year. The same has happened with the Fendi Spy, whose resale value grew by 127%, and the Fendi Baguette and the Gucci Horsebit Clutch, which saw search increases of 157% and 96%, respectively.

The passion for archive pieces has also swept up Bottega Veneta — following the re-release of the Hobo bag last February, searches for the style increased by 146% — and Chloé, whose re-release of the Paddington triggered a staggering 610% increase in searches for the vintage piece. Naturally, the Hermès Birkin and Kelly continue to capture consumer attention, with the value of the former rising by over 7% on the platform and the Birkin by 6%. Beyond bags, the site also noted a remarkable surge in searches for vintage ballet flats, up 751%, further confirming how mainstream it has become — even in the luxury fashion world — to buy pre-owned shoes.
