5 things to do in Milan this weekend From 26 to 28 august

"I've been trying to figure out September my whole life, but it's not for me" sang Fine Before You Come before I was even old enough to drink. Summer, the metaphorical one, is over again this year, although the scorching weather will still bedevil us for the month to come. Between a galloping nostalgia that one never quite knows where it comes from and good intentions for September, Milan is revived and repopulated. And in this limbo between holidays and reopening, nss guides you once again to take the best from each weekend.

To Eat - Baltic Bar

From the idea of three friends who, returning from a trip to Latvia, decided to bring the flavurs of the north to Italy, Baltic Bar was born. The Nordic atmosphere is everywhere: from the furnishings, with geometric oak tables and wallpaper reproducing evocative woods, to the original cocktails such as the Zemlyaa or Is (Norwegian for "ice"), up to the well-curated menu (venison tartare with quail egg, smoked trout with currants, pumpkin and leek velouté with Karbacz chopped herbs). An experience not to be missed.

Via Gorani, 5

To Discover - Temporary Time Beat

The touring performance by Ariella Vidach, choreographer and dancer, focuses on the relationship between movement and sound, combining contemporary dance, portable wireless technology and beat boxing. This is followed by DiscOnAir, Barbara Stimoli and Silvia Albanese's format that has been broadcasting music on air since 2020, in a "mobile" performance, investigating themes such as creative freedom and the relationship with others thanks to the aggregating force of music.

Piazza Anita Garibaldi, Baggio

To Chill - Fuorimano OTBP

Between Greco and Bicocca, 2015 saw the birth of Fuorimano OTBP (an acronym that stands for 'Off the beaten path'). Starting from an old blue shed, a trendy place with a swimming pool was born, furnished with salvaged pieces and modern-day design, where you can enjoy a good brunch, sip a cocktail, take a swim.

Via Roberto Cozzi, 3

To Club - Le Cannibale

The disco of Emmanuelle and the nostalgic sounds of Cristalli Liquidi, meet in the spaces of the Triennale, an unmissable Cannibale event for all friends back from holiday.

Viale Emilio Alemagna, 6

To Shop - Mercatone dell'Antiquariato

One of the city's most heartfelt and popular events, the "Mercatone dell'Antiquariato" on Navigli returns punctually, as it does every last Sunday of the month, with almost 400 exhibitors and a 2 km extension. Furniture, porcelain, silverware, jewellery, dolls, games, collectables, books, glasses, radios, modern antiques, sticks, bronzes, glass, comics, prints: a hymn to vintage and one of the city's most evocative events.
