Brain Dead's Pre-Fall 2020 Collection

Workwear aesthetics and relaxed fits in the streets of Tokyo

Brain Dead's Pre-Fall 2020 Collection Workwear aesthetics and relaxed fits in the streets of Tokyo

Over the years Brain Dead, the brand founded by Kyle Ng and Ed Davis, has been able to carve out its own personal space within the broad spectrum of contemporary streetwear aesthetics. The love that the two co-founders share for fringe culture, now in the musical field, now in film or art, has given its unmistakable imprint to the collections of their brand – an imprint that, for the pre-Fall 2020 collection of the brand, is oriented towards a more relaxed and less dark dimension. A mood that the campaign shot with intimacy and nostalgia by Will Goodan on the streets of Tokyo evokes perfectly.

Although Goodan's photos are mostly nocturnal, the colours of the pieces of this Pre-Fall 2020 seem more suitable for daylight. Green, orange, pink and blue are in fact the dominant colours of the collection, which the artworks of Gustavo Eandi and Kaloe Kaaikala make even more colourful. Brain Dead confirms its love for the world of utility wear, with special attention to climbing clothing, a great passion of Kyle Ng, with waffle shirts inspired by workwear but with a spongy texture, fleeces and cargo pants that seem to overpower (if not by number, at least in importance) the usual graphic garments such as hoodies, joggers and t-shirts that do not lack. Beyond the more traditional jackets and garments, one of the most interesting pieces in the collection is the Brain Eyes Cardigan, with intarsio pattern and a surrealist mini-patch on the chest.

Brain Dead's Pre-Fall 2020 collection is already available online on the brand's official website and at selected retailers.
