Versace takes on the retro Apple Computer sneaker Designed by Salehe Bembury

One of the reasons for Versace’s current upswing is their renewed focus on sneaker design and especially the employment of Salehe Bembury has pushed Versace's sneaker designs to a new and distinctive level. His novel Chain Reaction and Anatomia designs have redefined the chunky sneaker aesthetic. His latest design takes a bit of a side step to the new by designing a reiteration of Apple Computers iconic sneaker. The shoe that was given only to Apple employees in the early 90’s and never released publicly has gained a bit of a cult status and was recently put up for auction with an asking price if $15’000. Salehe’s version remains very true to the original design with the main difference being the Versace text replacing Apple, and a multicolored Medusa head replacing the Apple on the tongue.
