Queen Elizabeth at London Fashion Week

Surprise appearance in the front row by Richard Quinn

For the first time Queen Elizabeth II participated in London Fashion Week.

Her Majesty made a surprise appearance in the front row of Richard Quinn's fashion show, sitting on a ghost chair designed by Philippe Starck between Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council, and Anna Wintour.

Two queens, one next to the other, the one of England and the one of fashion that chatter and look curious, at least the first, the leaders on the catwalk.

The sovereign was at the LFW to give Quinn the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design, an award designed for young designers who have demonstrated not only particular creative skills, but also commitment to the community and sustainability.

A fashion curiosity: the director of Vogue Us wore a floral dress by Alexander McQueen, while Elisabetta opted for a light blue pastel suit by Angela Kelly with a pin pinned on the lapel and black accessories.
