Is Italy becoming one of the sneaker-game biggest players? Probably. There is more than a clue that industry is becoming everyday more aware of the Italian sneaker market and is finally investing in order to promote it and grow it for the best. Especially Nike is making its best to gain a privileged position in the Italian sneaker market. In few moth we first saw the special Air Max 97 Silver "Italy" release, then the Air Max 97 gold preview event in Rome, a full month before the shoe worldwide release. For sure Nike will be doing more in the upcoming month and it will be really interesting to see how competitors will react to Nike's strategy. 

#1 Nike Air Max 97 "Gold"

Air Max 97 celebrate their 20th anniversary. This is the main reason behind all the special release following these months. Air Max 97 gold release in particular have been anticipated by a special celebration in Rome. The premium sneakers inspired by a gold medal, a part from some minor details, is almost 100% faithful to the original. 

#2 Nike ACG 07 KMTR

Errolson Hugh gave birth to a little masterpiece once again. The shoe takes inspiration from previous ACG sneakers. The special stretch textile used for this sneakers is completely water-resistant. The upper is expandable and presents the ACG logo termo-sealed on the tongue. The sneaker features also a magnetic mid-foot compression strap and another one on the heel to ensure a better fit. The injected Phylon midsole and rubber outsole can guarantee a perfect cushioning on every surface and a perfect absorption of vibrations. The shoes has been released in two colorways: Blue/Desert yellow and Black/Black and will be available at Nike retailers.

#3 Nike Air Foamposite One "Metallic Red"

Foamposite One in one of the most renowned iterations "Metallic Red" is coming back on its 20th birthday. The iconic Shiny Red has been perfectly replicated. Same for the icy sole with black hints. The shoe has been announced out of nowhere, but this will for sure make some Foamposite fans euphoric.

#4 Nike Air Max Flair

Now it's even more clear that Air More Uptempo are the shoes of the year. In fact the bold "AIR" side panels have been now translated to a new creation from the Swoosh. Air Max flair feature a fully Visible Air cushioning and a lightweight upper with asymmetrical lacing system. The "AIR" lettering on the side is embroidered. This retro-inspired running shoe will be first released in a Black/Black cw.

#5 adidas NMD R2 "Tokyo"

Don't believe the ones who claim that an Off White x adidas NMD collab is happening. Not this time though. This new NMD R2 that presents the iconic diagonal striped on both heel and tongue has been simply inspired from one of the most beautiful cities in the world: Tokyo. The sneaker presents a full black mesh upper with red hints on the tongue. The Boost cushioning midsole is in white, generating a good contrast with the upper. The shoe will be released only in adidas flagship stores worldwide in limited quantities.
