inhabit #10 - Liuna Virardi

The meaning of "home" through the synthesis of shapes and colors.

inhabit #10 - Liuna Virardi The meaning of home through the synthesis of shapes and colors.

inhabit #10 sees as protagonist sees as protagonist Liuna. She's an illustrator from Bologna and she tells us through her work, "Home is an inner landscape", what is "home" for her.

For me “home” is an abstract concept, a feeling in front of a inner landscape, intimate and deep.

Liuna was born in Bologna in 1983. She studied Graphic Design and Visual Communication at ISIA in Urbino and Illustration at Escola Massana in Barcelona - a city in which she lived for many years. Today she works as an illustrator and author at Toulouse. She deals with the editorial project of all kind but she prefers illustrated books because, in her opinion, they represent a great way to express simple but strong messages. Her illustration style is characterized by a summary in shapes and colors, also the empty spaces are an essential part of her imagination. She received several awards: her illustration was selected for the Nambook Festival in 2017 and for the Illustrators Exhibition of Bologna Children’s Bookfair in 2014. She received the White Raven price in 2016 and the Gourmand Word Cookbook Award Price in 2014. Her works are also exposed in different cities of the world: Tokyo, Taiwan, New York, Barcellona, Lisbon, Milan and much more.
