During a night at the MoMA in New York on March 18, the artist Petra Collins will present In Search Of Us an exposure to investigate the representation of the female body in art.

"(the project) will confront traditional representations of the female body throughout the art-historical canon. Which tended to exclude bodies of work by such historical ‘others’ as women, gender non-conforming individuals, and persons of color ".

To develop the event, inspired by the essay Olympia's Maid: Reclaiming Black Female Subjectivity, Collins has collaborated with her friend and artist Madelyne Beckles to reinterpret the theme of the 1992 essay in a new contemporary vision of the woman: independent, sexual and agency.

The project is part of PopRally -a platform produced by MoMA to introduce young people to art - and will put a spotlight on the lack of diversification in contemporary art scene and will include a "digital salon" via Instagram, a three-hour tableau , live-performances of Art Baby's Grace Miceli and Alexia Murawski and DJ sets curated by Junglepussy.
