After a preview during the last Club To Club, where some new items of the Italian national team inspired by the 70s were shown, today adidas presented its latest collection of Originals football shirts. The brand has chosen to re-propose some of the most famous looks from the 70s, 80s and 90s, decades in which adidas began to influence the style of football by creating some of the silhouettes and patterns still most loved by fans today. The Original Football Collection is a capsule designed for lifestyle and is dedicated to some of the most important federations in the world that are still sponsored by the Three Stripes. It features products from adidas' ten partner federations in UEFA and CONMEBOL, the European ones are already available for purchase while the kits from the Latin American federations will be launched on 1 December.

In the second half of the 20th century, adidas kits influenced not only football but also lifestyle, a phenomenon that is still ongoing given the spread of trends that combine football shirts with all kinds of looks. Clearly, the materials used for the Original Football Collection do not focus on performance but rather on off-field wearability, recalling some historical elements of the uniforms such as the old federation logos. The items dedicated to the Italian national team are reminiscent of those of the late 1970s, while that of reigning World Champion Argentina, for example, cites the historic kit worn at USA 94. Along with the jerseys and training wear, adidas also presented the adicolor capsule collection, consisting of tracksuits, t-shirts and shorts, again inspired by the federations, which hark back to a time when football was also beginning to define itself as an aesthetic phenomenon.

The collection is available at adidas shops and selected retailers, and online at adidas.it
