Turin was the creative capital of Italy this past weekend. Artissima was the epicentre of art, with insiders and gallerists attending the fair and all the other exhibitions open in the city, as they do every year. Among the most eagerly awaited events of the week was Club To Club, the historic musical festival that saw some of the most interesting international artists take turns on the stages of Lingotto and OGR. In the past, C2C has represented the perfect example of cross-sectorial contamination, combining music with art, design and football. The final night on Sunday 5th November saw something unexpected, which may not have gone unnoticed by fans of football shirts and retro kits. During a live performance at the OGR by Victor Kwality and Gang of Ducks, the pair wore some unreleased garments made by adidas and inspired by the kits worn by the Italian national team in the late 1970s.

In recent days, leaks have opened up the possibility of adidas reintroducing the Trefoil from the Originals collection, which was also present on team uniforms in the past, on football shirts. The one seen at Club To Club could be a collection made by the brand for the FIGC, following a strategy that takes the football shirt out of the context of the pitch and more and more into the lifestyle world. The jersey recalls the designs of the past, with the adidas logo placed largely on the chest along with the writing 'Italia', contrasting with the traditional blue color of the national team. The presence of a tracksuit among the garments worn on the pitch seems to confirm that it should be a capsule designed for both football and lifestyle, at this point we have to wait to see if the Azzurri will also wear items from the collection, perhaps already in the next decisive EURO 2024 qualifying commitments scheduled for 17 and 20 November.
