The Newcastle United is back with adidas The return of a partnership that gave us iconic jerseys

As revealed in the Amazon Prime documentary We Are Newcastle United, Newcastle United have officially announced that they will return to adidas as technical sponsor from the 2023/24 season. This marks the return of a historic partnership that brought us iconic kits at the turn of the millennium, when adidas were the Magpies' official kit supplier between 1995 and 2010. Years that immediately bring to mind Alan Shearer scoring tonnes of goals while wearing the historic Newcastle Brown Ale main sponsor on the black and white stripes, a design that still has an inimitable charm. And it was precisely the memory of the Magpies' best years, during Kevin Keegan's Entertainer era, that prompted the management not to renew Castore's contract, which starts in 2021, and turn back to the German brand.

Nick Craggs, Global Football General Manager at adidas, said: 'We are delighted that adidas and Newcastle United Football Club have once again partnered to create excitement both on and off the pitch. This collaboration brings together two iconic names known for their history, innovation and commitment to excellence in football." Following the takeover by Prince Mohammed Bin Salman's Public Investment Fund in 2021, Newcastle United returned to the top flight, the Premier League, and last season qualified for the Champions League for the first time in 24 years. And from 2024, Sandro Tonali and his teammates will once again find the technical sponsor who made the club's jerseys memorable.
