Arsenal were one of the first major European clubs to unveil their new shirt for the 2023/24 season, with style and detailing celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Gunners' historic season in which they did not lose a single Premier League match, securing the nickname 'The Invincibles'. In the 38 matches of that season, the team of Arsene Wenger, Patrick Vieira, Thierry Henry and Robert Pirès achieved 26 wins and 12 draws, a winning streak that the club wanted to celebrate in the authentic version of the new home kit. The statistics of the results, summarised with a W for wins and a D for draws appeared on a side border of the jersey, and seemed like a very interesting detail until an online user noticed that the results reported were not 38 but 32, an error that led Arsenal to take the new jersey off sale by selling out all available sizes.

Among the missing results in the jersey detail, the one that caught the fan's attention was the historic streak of nine consecutive wins, from matchday 21 to matchday 29, which in the jersey only numbered seven. The fact that it is not six consecutive matches that are missing made one think at first that it was a deliberate choice, which was denied by the club, who removed the jerseys from sale and sent an apology email to those who had already bought them. The message admits a production error and assures a refund to the customer, meanwhile, online the jersey is still present, with no possibility of proceeding to purchase except for the replica version.
