Didier Drogba, one of the most iconic footballers of the last two decades and winner of two Uefa Champions Leagues with Chelsea, will enter his own team called Team Drogba under the colourful flag of Ivory Coast in the inaugural season of the world's first all-electric racing championship, which begins later this year. Throughout his career and since his retirement, Drogba, along with his partner Gabrielle LeMaire, has taken a leading role in promoting sustainability and environmental awareness.

"Sport and sustainability together, it's a winning combination. Gabrielle and I are both competitive, so we will make a strong team. We take inspiration from legends like Senna and Schumacher, but especially Lewis Hamilton,' said the Ivorian striker, who is competing against the teams of Rafael Nadal and Sergio Perez in the E1 championship. Didier Drogba and his foundation are aware of the importance of sustainable development and are forging partnerships with international universities for a master's degree in sustainable development. Through their new role as team owners in the E1 series, Didier and Gabrielle hope to reach a global audience to inspire them to join the race for a sustainable world for all.
