Gucci and FACEIT, an esport platform founded in London in 2012, have created a platform that will aim to train young esports talent while promoting a healthy gaming and competition environment. The Gucci Gaming Academy aims to develop players' soft skills through one-on-one coaching sessions and group activities designed to prepare young talents to cope with the physical and mental stress related to online competition and scrutiny that esports professionals are subjected to.

The project will initially count on four participants, who will be chosen not only through their gaming skills but also by taking into account "their personal values and skills, such as their predisposition to teamwork and ability to resolve conflicts, which will be carefully evaluated during the selection interviews." The path in the Academy will last one year or until participants find a professional contract. At that point, vacant positions will be filled again.

"Gucci," explained Nicolas Oudinot, EVP New Business and Gucci Vault CEO, "was among the first companies in the luxury sector to enter the world of gaming. In line with our philosophy, aimed at building authentic, and meaningful relationships with gamer communities, we want to help young esports talent meet the challenges that lie ahead of them on the road to a professional career. At the heart of this partnership of ours, there is a desire to understand directly from gamers the issues they face and help them on this journey."
