The return of AND1 to the NBA

Thanks to Norman Powell and the new version of Attack 2.0, scheduled for next fall

The return of AND1 to the NBA Thanks to Norman Powell and the new version of Attack 2.0, scheduled for next fall

Norman Powell, guard of the Toronto Raptors, has just signed a sponsorship deal with AND1, one of the most iconic brands of the last 20 years. This is not an absolute novelty, because the Canadian franchise player started this season with a pair of "Attack 2.0" and they are still the model he uses. After the signing, AND1 announced that it will launch a version of the "Attack 2.0" dedicated to Powell before the start of next season. The shoe will be released exclusively for Foot Locker Canada and will be produced in two colorways (white-red and black-red) and will have the new player logo on the tongue and back.

Among the players who have contributed to making the brand so different from the big brands of the beginning of the millennium such as Nike, adidas and Reebok, there are Stephon MarburyVince Carter (with the legendary "Tai Chi" of the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest), Latrell SprewellKevin GarnettJamal CrawfordChauncey Billups (the first to bring the "Rise" and AND1 to the NBA Finals),  Lance StephensonJason WilliamsBen Wallace e Montrezl Harrell. All players considered tough and completely out of the box just like the progenitor of the AND1 generation: Rafer Alston, better known as "Skip 2 My Lou".

The playground nature of AND1 of the 2000s, shown to the world thanks to the AND1 Mixtape Tour, soon turned into an NBA fashion thanks to the first undisputed protagonist of Volume 1 of the format conceived and organized by the Philadelphia brand. Alston represented the fulfillment of the dream: starting on the street and playing the highest level of basketball.
