Los Angeles Clippers change logo A redesign that will accompany their move to the brand new Inuit Dome from the 2024/25 season

Next season means a big change for the Los Angeles Clippers, the other team from the City of Angels, which will finally have a new home from 2024/25: the Inuit Dome. At the same time, the franchise's logo and jerseys will also change, as part of a complete redesign of the esthetic profile that owner Steve Ballmer so desperately wants. The last redesign dates back to the 2015/16 season, when the cursive font in white, red and blue was replaced with a more angular and modern font. This new change of direction sees a return to the classic: the Clippers lettering is featured on the home jersey in red cursive on a blue background, while the complementary colors of the franchise are used on the icon and statement jerseys. Also making a welcome return will be the red jersey, a fan favorite that last appeared in 2016/17 when Los Angeles was still called Lob City.

The most noticeable change, however, is to the Clippers' logo, which from next year will feature a new compass rose that forms the letter C with a ship, the Clipper that gives the franchise its name, representing the four points of the compass. In navy blue on a white background, the new logo depicts for the first time the sailing ship that the team will be honoring first in San Diego and then in Los Angeles. It continues the extremely minimalist trend that has dominated the NBA's redesign. Gillian Zucker, President of Business Operations for the LA Clippers, based her decision on the Paris Saint-Germain crest: "Many people wear the logo without realizing that it belongs to a football team. They find it beautiful and it represents a place that is important to them. That's why we worked hard on the logo for Los Angeles, to give fans the opportunity to take a piece of the city with them'.

The NBA has given the green light to unveil the new brand identity during the current season, rather than during draft week, as work on the new Inuit Arena is nearing completion and the Clippers plan to begin next season outside of Crypto.com Arena, which they currently share with the Lakers. It's a big step forward for a franchise that has made major investments over the years to break free from its underdog status and establish itself as one of the contenders for the Western Conference title.
