What is IQONIQ? The sponsor seen for a couple of weeks on different jerseys around Europe

In recent weekends some European clubs have shown a new sponsor on their jerseys, IQONIQ: some teams exposed it as the main partner in the center of the uniform, others, such AS Roma, on their sleeves. This company has established commercial relations with many European football teams, including, in addition to AS Roma, Real Sociedad, Olympique Marseille, Monaco, Zenit of St Petersburg, Valencia, Red Star and Groeningen, but also La Liga - the Spanish league - and basketball clubs such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and the Formula 1 team McLaren.

IQONIQ is a company based in Monaco that has developed an app to improve the fan experience of supporters. By registering on the platform the user has the opportunity to read information about his team (statistics, updates, field and market news), chat with other fans creating a community, access customized contents for his club and buy gadgets, game uniforms and tickets for matches. You can also watch races but for that you need a special Premium feature; the most interesting thing about IQONIQ however is the ability to talk and meet virtually the players of your team, organizing chatrooms and radio meetings. The point of this app is to offer the fan every existing contact with the team, improving the digital fan experience in a historical context in which the relationship with the club and the players is non-existent, or at most, feasible exclusively in virtual conditions.

Roma are the first Italian club to have signed with IQONIQ, which is the sponsor of the Giallorossa club, as well as Marseille and Monaco, while Zenit placed it on the back of the shirt and Real Sociedad even in front. IQONIQ's corporate mission – which in addition to sport boasts partnerships with Microsoft, KPMG and IMG – is to lead the company to be a world leader in virtual cheering, reaching 200 sponsorships of sports brands worldwide.
