There is a new peaky blinder in town, David Beckham joins the most stylish gangster gang all over England thanks to the F/W '19 collection by Kent & Curwen, a brand that manages and supervises together with the partner Simon Fuller. The collection presented yesterday during the second day of London Fashion Week is the result of a real partnership with Peaky Blinders, the TV series produced by BBC and set in a very elegant and foggy England of the '20s.

Kent & Curwen was founded in 1926 by Kent and Dorothy Curwen, who were Savile Row tailors. It has been in the fashion spotlight since 2015, when Beckham became majority owner. The role of the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, Milan, PSG, and LA Galaxy midfielder it's to manage and help the brand with its positioning on foreign markets, especially the Asian one, as a universally beloved symbol of British style.

“I’m an East End scoundrel at heart really, I was born and bred in Leytonstone, so why not have fun with it?”

Said Beckham, who could count on the support of his son Brooklyn, who is following in the footsteps of his father in terms of style, and his girlfriend Hana Cross, but especially his wife Victoria, spotted with a gray tweed suit and black boots, more accustomed than her husband to live from the inside the fashion shows.

The men's collection designed by Daniel Karns showed up at 9 am, in what looked like a very British breakfast. The garments paid homage to the brand's history, among roses and vintage atmospheres, in an ancient, very scenic wooden building. Roses, Stripes, Rugby Polo, military forms, wide coats and prevalence of natural colors. The red socks, common to all the outfits, were the leitmotif of the proposals seen on the catwalk.

David Beckham's project seems ambitious, focusing on the tradition of English tailoring at a time when there is a return of more formal looks is a smart choice that could reward in the short term. The catwalk surprised the fans, just in the week when the great protagonists are more experimental brands who experiments outside the traditional English schemes, such as Liam Hodges, Kiko Kostadinov, CRAIG GREEN and A-COLD-WALL *.

LeBron had already been ready, wearing a Kent & Curwen sweater in a photo posted by Udonis Haslem on Instagram. Good work Sir. Beckham.
