Celtic FC' black and yellow tradition

After launching the home and away shirts, for New Balance, it was the time to announce the Celtic Glasgow's third shirt for the 2018/2019 season, with the campaign called 'Only the bold'. The main colors are yellow and black, as has happened several times in the more than 100-year history of the Scottish club. The jersey, however, at the time did not make a great appreciation from the fans, but his original fantasy still deserves a second chance. But where had we already seen a similar color combination, looking Borussia Dortmund style?

1996/98 Away

Although the yellow color officially appeared for the first time on a Celtic shirt in 1970, it was in the two-year period 1996-1998 that a 'bumblebee' uniform was adopted: two similar jerseys with horizontal stripes, signed by Umbro, which were also worn from two old representatives of Italian football like Enrico Annoni and Paolo Di Canio and a young Henrik Larsson.

2009/12 Away-Alternate

After a few years, the yellow shirt was back as an auxiliary jersey: first as an away shirt, then as a shirt to wear exclusively for the European campaign, then as a third jersey. Also, this time in a very simple horizontal striped version, even if produced by Nike and sponsored by famous beers companies such as Carling and Tennent's. A little more particular is the jersey used in the 2011/2012 season, created on a pattern made up of irregular and symmetrical lines.

2015/16 Third

The latest version dates back to the 2015/2016 season, with Celtic working on two fronts: Scottish Premier League and Europa League. This shirt produced by New Balance is structured on a yellow base with black horizontal stripes of decreasing size, starting from the chest and going down.
