Among the sunny alleys in the maze of the city, hide buildings with a baroque charm and a decadent beauty.

In the labyrinth of streets that is the heart of Ortigia, the place that can boast a timeless mystique is the fish market: weathered faces, tan arms that unload goods, bodies covered with black ink, experienced hands that cut with skill fresh squids, freshly caught codfish, oysters and shrimps.

The sea is the magnet of life in Ortigia, it arrives distinct among the market stalls the smell of the salted water along with the breeze of the scirocco that for centuries has literally shaped the U’ Scogghiu, how the inhabitants of the city call the massive rock that lies in the sea at the forefront of the city.

The lens of Glauco Canalis takes us through the small squares, the alleys and the cliffs of Ortigia, making us breathe the most authentic and dreamy atmosphere of the city.
