A guide to the Milano Design Week 2017 The events you can't miss of the Fuorisalone week

Finally, Milano Design Week 2017 started, the Fuorisalone's week dedicated to design who involves the entire Lombard city with an explosion of exhibitions, installations, meeting and events you can't miss it until Sunday, April 9. Considering that the next five days will be a chaotic succession of dates of all type, to help you to plan your perfect Design Week, we selected some of the most interesting events you should absolutely mark on the agenda. Ready to take notes! 

 

Wednesday, April 5

PRECIOUS GARAGE by Cartier – Via delle Fosse Ardeatine. The Puerto Rican artist Desi Santiago, in collaboration with Cartier, turned the space into a completely golden installation titled “When The Ordinary Becomes Precious”.

LADYES & GENTLEMAN – Via Cesare Correnti 14. Collective exhibition curated by PS and the Rome-based gallery Secondome who shows inside the “La Casa dei Demoni” a series of young artists and editors able to turn material of any type into household and interior designs

Seletti Design Parade - From 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. stores will remain open to give rise to a night event who will end with a party at Piazza Affari curated by Seletti.

 

Thursday, April 6

CORIAN@ CABANA CLUB – Via Tortona 58. Several artists, including Antonio Marras, Idarica Gazzoni and Carolina Irving will create a multifaceted and multi-cultural space.

MILANO NEXT – Via Tortona 33. Domus magazine celebrates Milano with an exhibition who explores the meaning of such a rich and dynamic city.

DESIGN NOMADE at Base Milano – Via Bergognone 34. Base invited some young artists to interpret the topic of a nomadic lifestyle, giving rise to a hybrid and diversified space.

THE FINAL BALLET at Arizona 2000 – Via Natale Battaglia 12. The Matteo Cibic's dance hall brings us to dance vintage Italian music, including a band live performance.

 

Friday, April 7

PIGMENTS by ELIGO – Via Palermo 8. Eligo and Sammode come together to transform the concept of space and light. You can't miss this date if you are a Made in Italy craftsmanship lover.

MISSONI “TAKE IT EASY” – Via Solferino 9. Angela Missoni brings us into the colored “zigzagged” world of Missoni to celebrate the new collaboration with Jannelli&Volpi.

POESIE DI NEON at Palazzo Anguissola – Casa del Manzoni. Luca Trazzi's installation is a mix of neon lights, colors, and shadows who stages poems of light and urban signs. A very special atmosphere. 

 

Saturday, April 8

SPAZIO LOGOTEL – Via Ventura 15. The exhibition “Post Human – When Technology Embeds Society”, curated by Susanna Legrenzi and Stefano Maffei, explores the impact of technologies on human lives. The focus of the exhibition is the Russian designer and researcher Maria Yablonina's work, who features two “robot-spiders” who build a 10-metres web. 

VENTURA CENTRALE at Magazzini Raccordati – Via Ferrante 9. On the occasion of Design Week, the famous Raccordati storerooms will be opened again, featuring a series of evocative installations. 

THE IKEA FESTIVAL at Officina Ventura – Via Giovanni Ventura, 14. “Let’s make room for life” is the IKEA's festival who turns a space in Lambrate into a dynamic center of workshops, installations, events and meetings, including those with British designer Tom Dixon and with HAY.

 

Sunday, April 9

OBJETS NOMAD by LOUIS VUITTON - at Palazzo Bocconi, Corso Venezia, 48. The theme of the trip, dear to the French Maison, is re-created through the artisanal quality and the design beauty of some furnitures like sofas, chairs, and tables. 

NATURAL TALENTS - at Museo Poldi Pezzoli. 40 artworks by students in Master of Arts, with the Eligo Studio's supervision, are the focus of this exhibition, set up into a real birch forest.

SENSO 80 at ALBERGO DIURNO – Piazza Oberdan. An exhibition who celebrates the Roaring Eighties, from the “material” style of that decade to the iconic graphics of the movies.

CLOSING EVENT TRIENNALE - at Triennale di Milano, Viale E. Alemagna, 6. The week of Fuorisalone ended with a night party inside the garden curated by Le Cannibale. Djs Francisco, Brioski and Uabos will make you dance all night long.
