5 things to do in Milan this weekend From 4 to 6 July
July has arrived and the heat doesn’t stop. Temperatures keep rising, so Milan continues to offer alternative pastimes for those wanting to escape the scorching heat but lacking the desire or resources to leave. Despite the blazing sun, there’s no shortage of evening activities, indoor exhibitions, and parties where you can dance to the rhythm of music. Of course, taking a break from all these activities is important too: in such cases, nothing beats a nice lunch out.
As every week, nss’s column brings you 5 things to do in Milan this weekend, from July 4 to 6.
To Eat - Pantera Pizza Rustica
Having landed in Milan at the end of June, Pantera Pizza Rustica is ready to offer an excellent alternative to traditional Milanese food with a crispy pizza «straight from Garbatella». The Trecastelli brothers, already known in Rome for their trattoria and bistro, ventured into the world of pizza al taglio in 2023, strictly in Roman style. On their Instagram page, it reads «Behind every single element, a story» – and it’s true that pizza is always storytelling when made with love.

To Shop - mein.corp
This weekend, the summer sales finally begin. Since Milan is overflowing with clothing stores, its vintage shops are often underestimated, thought not to measure up to the city’s major fashion boutiques – but nothing could be more wrong. In fact, it’s in some of these shops that you can find exclusive high-fashion pieces at unbelievable prices: this weekend it’s all about mein.corp. Between ’90s clothes, miniskirts, and designer boots, the store also offers a tailoring service to adjust pieces that don’t fit perfectly, within 24 hours.

To Chill - La Notte
«A stumbling place for solitary spirits and meditative souls. La Notte is the perfect ending to a day gone wrong.» That’s how this place is described – and rightly so, it’s perfect for unwinding after a long workweek, surrounded by an almost mystical atmosphere. Open for just a few months, La Notte is already a go-to spot for Milanese who love the combination of intimacy and cocktails bordering on perfection. For those who prefer to play it safe, the wine selection certainly won’t disappoint, quite the opposite. There’s literally something for everyone: the scattered details, from quirky ceramics to fresh flowers, make La Notte a place waiting to be discovered.

To Discover - Pulci più di prima, ora
For those who want to dive into historical art, the exhibition Pulci più di prima, ora curated by Salvatore Cristoforo will open on July 4. A journey through the archives of ANED and the National Institute Ferruccio Parri, between letters from death row inmates, personal diaries, and visual documents, artist Valerio Eliogablo Torrisi engages with these works through the language of contemporary art, giving them new shapes and meanings. The exhibition, held at the Casa della Memoria, is part of the program celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Liberation.

To Party - FAME CLUB X SBAM GELATI
The synonym of summer? Obviously, ice cream. With nearly 40°C in the shade, Sbam Gelati and Fame Club came up with the perfect plan for a Saturday afternoon: music, food, and good company. From 5 PM to 7 PM, you’ll have the chance to spend carefree time surrounded by cool people. Because let’s be honest, who could say no to a nice lemon sorbet when it’s 37 degrees in the shade?
