5 things to do in Milan this weekend From 13 to 15 May

Amidst the early heat that has us imagining endless beaches and summer cruises from our office windows, we are getting our first glimpses of how unbearable living in the city can be in the heat. Yet, before Milan empties out and our feeds are filled with influencers in Ibiza, there is still plenty to enjoy in this metropolitan landscape. Here's a list of five things to do before the heat goes to our heads and we start seriously considering jumping into the radioactive waters of the Naviglio.

To Eat - Maido

Maido brings to Italy the Okonomiyaki experience, the most popular street food dish in Japan's second largest city, Osaka. On the menu are Japanese omelettes with bacon, prawns or vegetables, stuffed onigiri, mochi and rice burger. Through the large window you can watch and admire the preparation of traditional dishes at all stages, in an intimate little place that transports us directly to Asia.

Via Jacopo dal Verme, 16

To Chill - Kappa Cup

Five-a-side football is a real culture made up of weekly get-togethers, teams that change as needed, tip-offs, beer on the sidelines and the inevitable locker room talk. A way of life that Kappa Cup wants to celebrate through three triangulars under the banner of sport, music and culture.

To Discover - Who is changing Milan?

Who is changing Milan? is the first event dedicated to the realities, people and communities that are helping to change the Milan we live in every day. On 13 and 14 May at Base Milano a talk to gather thoughts, problems and ideas to imagine concrete answers to the issues of the present.

Via Bergognone, 34

To Shop - Reading Room

A space dedicated to independent magazines, Reading Room is a meeting place for fans, collectors and insiders to browse through over 200 magazines. The choice ranges from Autre to Record Culture, from Der Greif to Vestoj, but also The Face and 032c, as well as magazines dedicated to cooking, Middle Eastern traditions and architecture.

Via Mincio, 10

To Club - LeCannibale

Saturday we dance inside a new hostel in the centre of Milan: 2 club rooms, 1 large outdoor space, 2 bars and music by Velasco, Tamati sound, Sala Radio Soundsystem. A party dedicated to the electronic sounds of the world and set in a large hall surrounded by hundreds of LEDs and a former deconsecrated chapel.
