"When I get dressed It's never nothing less than GUESS" Nas sang in 1994.
Guess was one of the most popular brands among the Hip-Hop scene in New York City, even before Gucci and Givenchy. This is the premise upon the birth of the new GUESS Originals line that will debut later this month.
Following the same steps of adidas Originals, Guess has launched a new line that will see the participation of different influential creative minds, with the purpose of bringing back to life the most iconic designs of the Guess archives, with a contemporary touch.
Which character better than Fashion Killa’s rapper could have been chosen for the first collaboration? Asap Rocky explained to Vogue what led him to give life to the collection: “I just thought about my nostalgic childhood, with hip-hop and growing up in Harlem and the Bronx, and remembering GUESS played a big part in that. But kids these days have no knowledge of that. I just felt like it was necessary to tell them that GUESS was actually lit back in the day”.
The collection will (obviously) be focused on the '90s vibes, and the classic Guess logo will be turned for the occasion in Gue$$.
The collaboration GUESS Originals x Asap Rocky will be available for pre-sale starting from January 30 in selected stores like Opening Ceremony in New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo, Union in Los Angeles, RSVP Gallery in Chicago and Contraband in Tokyo.
On February 15 it will be available at GUESS stores worldwide.
