On Thursday, PUMA presented the launch of the Slipstream BBall, the 80s trainers revisited this year by the brand taking inspiration from the world of basketball and modern streetwear. Amidst the packed streets of Paris, the FOREVER. SLIPSTREAM. celebrated the new trainers and the brand's long-standing collaboration with NBA star LaMelo Ball during an evening filled with original characters and ideas. More than 400 people gathered around a basketball court in the green-and-white colorway of the Slipstream after passing through a tunnel directly inspired by the spaces where basketball players are wont to be paparazzied. In the middle of the venue, under a white basketball hoop, Melo and worldwide freestyle champion Brisco entertained the crowd by showing off their favorite skills in numerous duels with some of the guests, while upstairs a special exhibition told the story of the Slipstream in a rich collection from the PUMA archive in Herzogenaurach.

Created by PUMA in 1987, the Slipstream was originally conceived as a high-top sneaker intended to tread basketball courts. This reimagined model pays homage to its basketball roots but elevates the silhouette to a sleeker, more modern look. PUMA's iconic Formstrip is embossed on the sides and the sneakers' colorways introduce brighter and more numerous options, while the bright white color that has been characterizing the design for more than 35 years and the ivory details on the sole and trim intensify the vintage aspect of the sneaker even further.

The PUMA Slipstream BBall is available from 1 June at all PUMA Stores, on the PUMA website, and at selected retailers.
