From Marina Abramović's virtual reality project to communicate the devastating effects of climate change, to Etro's first fully digital fashion show during Metaverse Fashion Week, to the immersive partnership between Balenciaga and Fortnite, the past year has shown us that the creative possibilities in the Metaverse have no limits. But what opportunities does digitalization offer the new generation of creatives in practice? How would you use the latest technologies to express your point of view in fashion and art? Istituto Marangoni Firenze, The School of Fashion & Art, with the creative support of nss, is trying to answer these questions with the competition UNLIMITED SELF, aimed at young Italian talents who dream of a future in the world of fashion and art. There is a concrete opportunity to win for creatives who are looking for new impulses: 30 scholarships for three-year, master's, and one-year courses starting at the Istituto Marangoni Firenze in the academic year 2023/2024.

Participation is quite simple: all you need is a creative idea in the metaverse, NFT, and AI technologies field. With a video of no more than 60 seconds or a mood board with 9 evocative images, accompanied by 400 words of text explaining the proposal, contestants are invited to express in creative language the possibilities the digital world offers to the new generation of creatives. The projects will be judged by a panel of experts based on the following criteria: conformity with the objective, innovativeness of the proposal, the validity of the project from an aesthetic and presentational point of view, overall quality of the work, ability to summarise and clarity in the presentation of the project. Once again, Istituto Marangoni confirms itself as a pioneer in the world of education, sensitive to changes in the industry, and faithful to its role as a guide for a new generation of creatives.

Submissions for the UNLIMITED SELF competition open on 22 February and close on 2 April, the deadline for submission of the creative project. You can view the entry criteria via the link.
