MQBMBQ and Calvin Klein present Notes to Self Starring the Queer Afro-Italian dancer Nnamdi Nwagwu

Born from the collaboration with Calvin Klein, Notes to Self is the project of My Black Queerness, My Queer Blackness (MQBMBQ) featuring the Afro-Italian dancer Nnamdi Nwagwu. Between dance and personal story, the project takes us inside his experiences, from his professional path to the human one as a member of the Black Queer community, born in Italy, between the weight of the expectation placed on him by society and the way he managed to exploit it to create his artistic identity.

Nnamdi Nwagwu is also among the protagonists of Calvin Klein's Digital Experience created with the intention of celebrating Pride. The event, which combined personal stories and artistic performances, saw the involvement of names such as Ariete, Venerus, David Blank and M¥SS KETA. In addition to the aforementioned Nwagwu, La B Fujiko also took part in the event. "Independence - that's what formed me and what I'm proud of. It was fundamental to my artistic career, my school years, my whole life," Nwagwu shared. "At the same time, I feel like I'm part of something bigger. Independence and community - a mix that makes me who I really am."

A commitment to supporting LGBTQIA+ advocacy, equality and safety has always been at the heart of Calvin Klein's interests. This year, the brand has created synergies with The Trevor Project, Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund (TLDEF), National Pulse Memorial & Museum, ILGA World and BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation in Australia. In Europe, Calvin Klein supports the work of ILGA World advocacy, working to help in the communication and development of over 1700 LGBTQIA+ organizations from over 160 countries, supporting them in their fight for LGBTQIA+ equality. The event, hosted by M¥SS KETA with a live chat moderated by La Ghey, can be viewed online.
