Three new Stone Island Gore-Tex Jackets just dropped Including use of the new soft Gore-Tex Infinium™ fabric

Earlier this year during Milan design week, nss attended the presentation of Gore Tex's latest innovations at the Refractions exhibition. One of the most exciting was the unveiling of a brand new Gore material called GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ which is a much softer and pliable fabric than the staple Gore-Tex, while still offering an exceedingly high level of weather protection. Beyond the tech, Infinium offers up a new world of design possibilities, especially for more lightweight and movement permitting jackets. At the exhibition, Stone Island teased one of its first prototype jackets utilizing Infinium and we have since been wondering if they would start implementing the fabric into their product line. Stone Island have now just released 3 new Gore-Tex jackets, that each present new GORE-TEX innovations.

The first is a longer Trench silhouette made with Shakedry ™ technology, which is a permanently water-repellent outer face fabric. The lightest, most breathable, windproof and easily packable product among the durable waterproof garments that feature the Gore-Tex® black diamond label.

The second is the jacket we saw teased during design week, a Soft Lined Shell made from Infinium that exhibits a permanently water-repellent outer face. The inside of the fabric has a micro-check fleece protection that is extremely functional and pleasant to the touch. The concealed sleeves are made of Gore-Tex® Products With Shakedry ™ which allows the piece to be modified into a vest. All finished off with a large stitched burgundy Stone Island emblem on the back.

The third is an anorak silhouette and is a scaled down iteration of the second, which feature the same Soft Lined Shell made from Infinium. A more minimal design, the clean front leads up to a turtleneck with a zip along the cotton ribbon of the shoulders. The Stone Island's Rosa dei Venti logo is embroidered on the left arm again in burgundy.

The three new Stone Island Gore-Tex jackets are available now online and in the flagship stores.
