Stone Island introduces STONE ISLAND DENIM RESEARCH for the SS26 collection. Introduced last season, the brand continues the Stone Island Denim Research project, expanding its range. However, Stone Island’s focus on denim has deep roots; first introduced by Massimo Osti in 1984, it became part of the Stone Island collection, integrating seamlessly within the brand’s broader vision.

At the beginning of the 2000s, under the creative direction of Paul Harvey, Stone Island Denim developed its own visual and stylistic identity, debuting in the FW01/02 season. Although denim has now become a classic garment of the 21st century, Stone Island today aims to explore new possibilities while simultaneously reflecting on its origins.

In this new release, the garments are treated with enzymatic bleaching washes, such as the coach jacket in ultra-bleached indigo denim, and unconventional materials such as hollow fiber nylon, highlighting the brand’s extensive material research. Stone Island Denim Research garments are distinguished by the new dedicated black badge, featuring the compass rose embroidered in indigo blue and nickel silver buttons.

The protagonists of the capsule are Latin Grammy Award-winning artist and singer-songwriter Feid and British actor Charlie Hunnam, who already in 2005, as the lead actor in the cult film "Green Street Hooligans", consolidated his long-standing connection with Stone Island, naturally integrating into the brand’s community. In this context, the two celebrities perfectly embody the spirit of the campaign “Community as a Form of Research”.

For the campaign, the new faces wear Stone Island’s iconic pieces: actor Charlie Hunnam wears the Dense Oxford Nylon-TC, a jacket made of tightly woven oxford nylon, garment-dyed in indigo. The piece features metal details combined with industrial silicone elbow patches inspired by 1980s archive models. Meanwhile, artist Feid wears the Indigo Denim-Ultra Bleached, a coach jacket in ultra-bleached indigo denim, also treated with chlorine to create a faded effect and an extremely light finish, where the twill weave forms the characteristic diagonal pattern of denim.

The two garments clearly express the innovation and high level of craftsmanship that distinguish Stone Island products. The Indigo Denim–Ultra Bleached appears as a 13.5 oz denim coach jacket made from indigo-dyed cotton with a diagonal twill weave, subjected to enzymatic washing and chlorine treatment to achieve a faded effect and a surprisingly lightweight finish.

The Hollow Fibre Nylon Indigo-TC + Marmo Corrosion, instead, is an anorak in compact hollow fiber nylon which, while maintaining a substantial structure, remains extremely lightweight. The garment is garment-dyed with indigo pigment enriched with special resins and, after an initial enzymatic wash, undergoes a mechanical corrosion treatment that gives the surface a dynamic marbled effect. The whole is completed with a special water-repellent agent.

The garments synthesize textile research, experimentation, and a constant drive toward innovative technical treatments: elements that form the core of the Denim Research campaign, through which Stone Island recalls its heritage while renewing its focus on its community, introducing new faces such as Feid and Charlie Hunnam. The brand thus reaffirms itself as one of the most relevant contemporary realities in terms of craftsmanship and ability to engage audiences, in a perfect union of quality and innovation, further strengthening its identity.
