Unity is strength.

The old proverb is always true, especially in the fashion world, where collaborations, marriages between different minds, the exchange of ideas are the lifeblood that feeds it, and it pushes more and more the boundaries.

Lou Stoppard, Showstudio's editor, and freelance writer has decided to celebrate this aspect of the fashion industry with a new exhibition dedicated to the most profitable professional couples and interesting industry: Fashion Together.

"I’m interested in lasting partnerships" – she said - "the formative, friendships, the unions that exist behind the scenes or the decades-long working relationships that have shaped each participant’s vision and life".

From Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin to Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, Vivienne Westwood and Andreas Kronthaler to photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Rick Owens and Michele Lamy at Alexander McQueen and jewelry designer Shaun Leane, these partnerships have created unique and special creations, often become a real cult.

Fashion Together will be open from 8 September to 13 January 2018 at Fashion Space Gallery in London through work, movies, and pictures, dresses, sketches and notes from each of the eighteen pairs analyzed. The same subject of the exhibition had already been explored by Stoppard in his debut book Together edited by Rizzoli and released in 2016.
