Pirelli – The calendar. 50 years and more

After the exhibition held last winter at the Royal Palace of Milan, The Cal becomes a book published by Taschen.

The work travels through the 50 years of history of the pictures taken from the Pirelli Calendar, which from the 60s to today involved some of the most talented photographers of our time: Richard Avedon, Peter Lindberg, Bruce Weber, Steve McCurry, Patrick Demarchelier, Steven Meisel and Terry Richardson, are just some of them. Each of them could express his art freely and the Calendar contributed to promote and consolidate their style among the public.

The treasures of the Pirelli archive became a work to browse all the year long, among the pages of which you will encounter the iconic images of models like Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Gisele Bündchen, Cindy Crawford, Angela Lindvall, Laetitia Casta, Penélope Cruz, Milla Jovovich and Sophia Loren.

Imagine that all those images could have lasted just for 12 months…
