IKEA's gorpcore pillow that becomes a coat

FÄLTMAL is the name of a new multi-functional cushion recently put on the market by IKEA. The peculiarity of its design is that it can be opened and closed with an ingenious system of buttons that allow it to be transformed into a blanket but also into a tunic/coat with a strange avant-garde flair. The cushion/quilt is composed of nylon on the outside and 80% recycled polyester padding.

This new article by IKEA, which will certainly go viral, is perhaps one of the best recent examples not only of functional design but also of communication between home textiles and gorpcore fashion. Considering that, within the IKEA proposal, such a versatile product is a unicum it is not excluded that it is a test to test whether an outdoor object with a more elaborate and utilitarian concept can be successful for the brand's customers.
