Toda House by Kimihiko Okada
Questa casa, situata a Hiroshima, ha avuto l'effetto sfavorevole di rendere i nostri luoghi e spazi abitabili, come una pila di scatole di cereali. Questo incredibile progetto è opera di Kimihiko Okada. Arroccato letteralmente su una serie di piedistalli, questa struttura curva, è elevata al di sopra dei suoi edifici vicini. Con un tocco Americano anni '50, si affaccia sul mare, sulla città e sulla montagna, grazie alla sua posizione strategica. L'edificio è di fatto un lungo corridoio tortuoso, che si allarga e si restringe in vari punti.
This Hiroshima house has had the unfortunate affect of making our own places feel like a pile of sad damp cereal boxes. This incredible project is the work of Kimihiko Okada. Perched literally on a series of pedestals, this curved structure is elevated above its neighbours, showing off as it rightfully should. With a feel of 50s America about it, it overlooks sea, city and mountain. We’d spend most of our time looking inwards, just walking around leering at the place itself.
