The most frequently used words to describe Virgil Abloh and his work are "Renaissance Man" – an English idiom that refers to a creative whose skills are manifested in many different fields, just like a Michelangelo or a Leonardo Da Vinci. One of the most popular sides of his work, before the Off-White™ phenomenon and his entry at Louis Vuitton, were the cover albums made during and after his time as art director of Kanye West's Donda Academy. A work that over time has not slowed down but not stopped: his most recent design for a music album was the cover of the Spectral Frequencies EP by Special Request.

Abloh's mind conceived the artwork of many of Kanye West's albums, and even the cover of Watch The Throne, officially designed by Riccardo Tisci, was created under his supervision. All the artworks have aesthetic elements that recall his artistic obsessions: from the classical art of Caravaggio for the Westside Gunn album to the surrealist butterflies, double quote to The Silence of the Lambs and Salvador Dali, for the cover of Lil Wayne, to the inspirations of the industrial graphic design used for the albums of Pusha T and Lil Uzi Vert and the reference to vintage vinyls for Theophilus London's Vibes
