Fabric Division FW 2012 fashion film

Fabric Division presenta il nuovo video della FW collection 2012/2013 “The Distance Between You and Me” realizzato dall'artista Giapponese Masaru Iwai.

I suoi lavori, riuniti sotto il titolo “Cleaners High” indagano il tema della pulizia declinata in varie forme e servendosi di vari supporti: video, installazioni e performance.

Il video è girato al Beelitz-Heilstätten ex complesso ospedaliero sito fuori Postdam, vicino Berlino. Il sanatorio fu creato nel primo novecento, venne usato come ospedale militare Tedesco e occupato al termine del secondo conflitto mondiale dai Sovietici. Dal 2000 l'intera area è abbandonata e in totale decadimento, questo la rende estremamente affascinante, tanto da essere divenuta la città fantasma più frequentata da fotografi e amanti dell'urban exploration. Sia la location che la musica supportono a pieno la maniacalità tutta giapponese per la cura, a tratti morbosa, del dettaglio, che tende a risucchiare i personaggi stessi in una patetica ed estenuante routine.

Fabric Division presents the video from the fall winter collection 2012/2013 directed by the Japanese artist Masaru Iwai.

Masaru Iwai incorporates garbage and clearing in his works under the theme of “Cleaners High”. Utilizing various media such as installation, video and performances, Iwai gives an re-interpretation to the innate desire for cleanliness in our everyday lives.

The video was shot at Beelitz-Heilstätten, this immense hospital complex originally built as a tuberculosis sanatorium, was converted into a military hospital during the first world war by the German imperial Army and in 1945 it was turned into a soviet military hospital. It was abandoned in 2000, and neither the hospital buildings or the surrounding area are yet secured giving the area the feel of a ghost town. This has made Beelitz-Heilstätten a destination for photographers, video makers and urban exploration.
