Simone Furlan
Simone Furlan’s first pair of Dr. Martens was «the loafer, which I didn’t know that was from Dr. Martens. I bought a black pair with two tassels — just super British». But although his first model represents the brand’s most preppy product, the memories the brand’s items evoke for him involve London punks: «When I lived in London I used to go to Camden Town and there were a lot of stores selling Dr. Martens and a lot of punks wearing them». Given his celebrity status job, however, the aesthetic and historical associations overlap, touching on «the Hipsters and other subcultures who appropriated the shoe and then reinterpreted it in their own way.»
As for the styling of his looks, Simone wanted to be «instinctive» and come up with a series of summer outfits that demonstrate the versatility of the brand’s footwear: «I used the softest silhouettes, the over volumes that fit me, and added a bit of color». As for his favorite styles, Simone cites the 1461, the classic Oxford, and the mule – perfect for both softer silhouettes and more workwear-inspired looks.
