Jon Bronxl

"It was a shoe I had always dreamed of,” says Milan-based Veronese photographer Jon Bronx when talking about his Dr. Martens. The first model he bought was a 1461 lace-up - a model that symbolized his love for “punk, rock and indie music” that he listened to during high school and continues to listen to today. Let's take a tour with him in the Ticinese area, between the Colonne di San Lorenzo, a place that cradled him in his first years in Milan and that he still loves.

I BOUGHT MY FIRST PAIR OF DR. MARTENS IN A VINTAGE SHOP WHEN I WAS IN ART HIGH SCHOOL. IT WAS THE KIND OF SHOE I HAD ALWAYS DREAMED OF, THE 1461 FLAT BLACK. WHEN I WEAR IT I FEEL MYSELF PART OF THE STORY.

In his testimonial, Jon describes the connection that has always linked Dr. Martens to music and young cultures, a bond that is renewed with every collection through the continuous updating of the brand’s great classics, always ready to cross the wall that separates different generations around the world.
