Turkish stadiums at Euro2032

Turkish stadiums at Euro2032 After the Italian ones, we also discover the other stadiums of the European Championship organised by Italy and Turkey

Having seen what the Italian stadiums for the 2032 European Championship might look like in the event of a joint bid with Turkey, we now turn to the stadiums where the games will be held on Turkish soil. Compared to the Italian stadiums, the Turkish stadiums may have less history, but they are certainly in better condition and do not need major renovations. As in the case of Italy, the Turkish federation has to choose the five stadiums out of 10 that will be the venue of the continental event. Of course, the Istanbul stadiums, the Atatuerk Olympic Stadium, which hosted the last Champions League final, the Ali Sami Yen Stadium, Galatasaray's stadium, and the Şuekrue Saracoğlu Stadium, home of Fenerbahçe S.K., cannot be missing from the shortlist.

The other facilities in the rest of the country are the Gaziantep Stadium, home of the home club and the Turkish national team, the Bursa Metropolitan Stadium, famous for the crocodile head at the entrance, and the Şenol Gueneş Sports Complex, where Trabzonspor plays. Then there is the Antalya Stadium, the Konya Metropolitan Stadium and the New Eskişehir Atatuerk Stadium. In addition, a new stadium is to be built in the Turkish capital Ankara, which will stand on the site of the historic 19 May Stadium. Work began in July 2022 and is expected to be completed in time for the kick-off of Euro2032. From this brief review, it is clear that the Turkish facilities are much more modern than ours, which is perhaps one of the reasons why the joint bid eventually won the European Championship and the typical enthusiasm that football has always generated in this country.
