With the 2023-2024 season approaching faster than we realize, it is time for the latest releases on the calendar. In other words, it is time for third kits to be unveiled, and Monaco’s OCEANO jersey is probably one of the most interesting ones out there.

As the name suggests, the kit has a lot to do with the marine world. It is the result of a collaboration between the club, Kappa, and the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco to pay homage to the beaches that so heavily characterize Monaco and the wider Côte d’Azur region. In fact, the shirt mixes white of the French Riviera sands and the blue of Mediterranean Sea as they meet diagonally, allowing Monaco to subtly keep their valued, traditional, and iconic diagonal look, while also freshening things up with a design dedicated to the scenery of the Principality. The Monaco and Kappa logos appear in white on the blue section of the kit.

And while this certainly makes us reflect and appreciate the beauties of the Riviera, there is more to the OCEANO jersey. For every jersey sold, Kappa and Monaco will donate €5 to the Oceanographic Institute, in an attempt to support the preservation of the ever-fragile marine ecosystem and environment. These efforts also go hand in hand with the 100% usage of recycled polyester in the production of the kits, done in the name of sustainability and recycling.

The evocative imagery of the kit is meant to raise awareness about the issues that marine life is currently facing, but it also allows the Monegasque club to embrace a key part of its identity and simultaneously help the local community.

The third Monaco 'Oceano' kit is available online at the club's store.
