Manchester City and PUMA today announced the launch of a line of kits to celebrate girls and women in football in Manchester. The main feature is obviously the design inspired by the British activist and politician who led the UK's suffragette movement, Emmeline Pankhurst. A kit that has obviously also been made for charity, PUMA has joined forces with the club's charity, City in the Community (CITC), to accelerate access to women's football across the city of Manchester. The City men's team will wear the kit during warm-up and walk-through at this weekend's Premier League match against Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 4 March, while Man City Women will play with the kit at the FA Women's Super League match against Tottenham Spurs on Sunday 5 March at the Academy Stadium.

"Manchester City's new pre-match collection is a great opportunity for PUMA to continue to support women's football and celebrate inspirational women, past and present," said Marco Mueller, Senior Head of Product Line Management Apparel Licensed at PUMA. "The collection is inspired by the figure of Manchester's Emmeline Pankhurst and is the perfect project for PUMA working with the charity 'City in the Community' to provide free equipment and football sessions to girls in the community."

In the coming weeks, the shirts will also be auctioned through City in the Community's digital channels in aid of the club's charity and the Pankhurst Trust. But it doesn't end there, to help address these challenges, PUMA will sponsor City in the Community's City Girls programme and help the charity provide free weekly football sessions to 250 Manchester girls over the next 12 months.
