The craziest third jerseys in Serie B

The perfect breeding ground on which to experiment and propose something totally distant from tradition

The craziest third jerseys in Serie B The perfect breeding ground on which to experiment and propose something totally distant from tradition

Third team jerseys have always been a fertile ground for experimentation, proposing designs, colours and patterns that often have nothing to do with the tradition and history of the clubs. A jersey on which designers can unleash their imagination, not having to follow any strict stylistic rules. A glaring example is that of Ajax, which for several seasons now has been producing stylistically perfect jerseys with the support of adidas, capable of recording record numbers, such as last season's dedicated to Bob Marley or this year's designed by Daily Paper. But the Serie B was no less than that either. If there are great expectations from a sporting point of view, even on the stylistic side, the teams did not disappoint, for what is sure to be one of the most hard-fought seasons in recent years.

And since the Serie B usually gives us really crazy jerseys, we decided to do a little recap, looking for the craziest design, pattern and colouring seen on the pitches of the Italian second league.

Palermo - Kappa

One of the craziest jerseys is definitely Palermo's, an absolute novelty, made possible thanks to the design created ad hoc by Italian artist TvBoy, who was inspired by Palermo's patron saint, Santa Rosalia. The skull and roses, emblems of the religious figure, set in a context of ornamental motifs in Baroque style, a true cult in the Sicilian capital, and classic iconographic elements of the figure of the Saint. A uniform totally inspired by the soul of Palermo and the people of Palermo, to further increase the team's already strong bond with the territory.

Cittadella - Erreà

White with an original geometric design composed of light blue scratches, accompanied by garnet details such as the polo collar, and the blue of the sleeve border, this is what the Italian brand Erreà proposed for Cittadella. One of the teams that has undoubtedly surprised the most under the point of view and that now hopes to do so also under the sporting one, conquering a promotion that it has only ever touched in the past seasons.

Cagliari - Eye Sport

The main novelty is certainly the change of technical sponsor, with president Giulini's club deciding to leave adidas and rely on EYE Sport, a local brand that will make its debut in the Serie Cadetta. The collaboration between Cagliari and its new technical sponsor has resulted in game uniforms that combine tradition with innovative elements: the result is a unique product with strong Sardinian references and a green vocation. The third yellow base shirt with its colourful weave could only be in this special ranking.

Genoa - Castore

The main news here is also the change of technical sponsor. After three seasons with Kappa, Genoa have announced that they have signed a multi-year partnership with Castore from the 2022/23 football season. The English brand thus arrives for the first time in Italy to continue its path of growth in Europe through rapid expansion and the synergies created with football, cricket, rugby and motor sports teams. After releasing two classic jerseys, a few weeks ago it also unveiled the third with a grey diamond pattern and we can't wait to see it on the pitch.

Benevento - Nike

And in this ranking you cannot miss Benevento, one of the two Serie B teams to be dressed by Nike. In this case, the jersey does not stand out - which is rather simple - for crazy designs or patterns, but only for its writing in English - More than red and yellow - on the right side, certainly atypical for the Campania team.
