Best jerseys worn during the summer tournée Friendly matches around the world have become the first opportunity to see the new kits on the pitch

European teams' tours to other continents have quickly gone from exotic novelty to a necessary custom to fill the coffers and export the brand even to countries where football is not normally at home. For example, Arsenal is said to have earned nearly ten million euros from its series of friendlies in the U.S., a significant figure for the Gunners who were returning after a three years hiatus to travel beyond English borders. But summer friendlies have also become a great vehicle for showing off newly unveiled jerseys, or brand new signings. Or as done, for example, by Juventus or Paris Saint-Germain forging partnerships with local brands such as Liberal Youth Ministry and VERDY that would not have been possible without going there, a testament to the internationalization of football.

However, there were many jerseys that debuted away from the home field, anticipating the looks that will accompany the teams during the upcoming season. From Manchester City's home version in light blue and burgundy outlines worn by the Citizens at Lambeau Field, one of American Football's historic stadiums home of the Green Bay Packers, which accompanied Erling Haaland's goal-scoring debut to Manchester United's new adidas jersey, which took the field at Bangkok's Rajamangala National Stadium in a tropical friendly against Liverpool, which instead wore its away jersey featuring a psychedelic pattern. Melbourne's Cricket Stadium saw United's away version, while City's Milan version debuted at NRG Stadium.

Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, chose Japan for their summer in preparation for the upcoming Ligue 1 season, wearing the away jersey at Japan National Stadium in partnership with VERDY and the first one at Saitama Stadium, in a highly successful tour that also received abundant coverage on the transalpines' social media. The Italian teams preferred to stay in Europe, with only Juventus crossing the Ocean for a series of friendlies in California while Inter and Milan chose nearby Switzerland and Austria for finishing. It was a more conservative choice but still served to show in action the jerseys designed by Nike and PUMA respectively. After the official presentation, in fact, the first matches are crucial to understand how the jerseys perform on a football field worn by the players who will have to sweat them out.
